Know Your Rights!

  1. With your group, choose one section of the legislation below that interests you all. This will be your final presentation topic so choose wisely.
  2. Individually, read the section very carefully, noting the main information and at least two statistics.
  3. Expand your research to other other sections if necessary to better understand your topic.

  1. Create a document on Canva.com presenting your five findings on separate pages. This will be the starting point for your final presentation tomorrow.
  2. Add images, video, colour, music and animation to your each page.

Identify Your Goals

  1. Make a list of the information you want to know about your presentation topic. 
  2. Start thinking about what questions will help you get the information you need. 
  3. Make a list of ten questions to include in your survey.

Build Your Survey

  1. Use the Google Form associated with your breakout room number linked below to create your survey. 
  2. Choose a minimum of three different question types in your form to get a variety of responses. This will ensure you get adifferent data types to use in your presentation.
  3. Practice taking your own survey to review and improve the questions. 
  4. Type the word 'Ready' in your survey's description to let other groups know they can start taking your survey.

  1. Use the button below to complete other groups' surveys if the word 'Ready' appears in the survey's desciprtion. This will help them prepare for their presentations.

Final Presentation Preparations

Follow the steps below to get your group presentations ready for tomorrow.

  • Review Your Research

    Read back through your legislation summary, your survey results and the things you've learned this week. 


    Compile your research on a shared space, for exmaple, Zoom chat, Google Slides or a Google Doc. This will help your group stay organised. 

  • Plan Your Talking Points

    Amend the five points in your Canva document according to your new research that you and your group will discuss during your final presentations. 


    Remember, including statistics can make your argument and presentation sound more factual. Use your legislation research and survey findings to back up every point you make in your presentation. 

  • Design Your Presentation

    Use the Canva document we worked on today to continue designning your presentation. 


    Create pages for each of your talking points. 


    You can use as many pages you like but remember, the aim of your presentation is to engage your audience and present them with a combination of facts (statistics) and thought provoking questions and ideas. 


    Add images, colour, videos, animation and background music to your presentation. This will help keep your audience engaged. 


    Remember, you can use your own images and videos taken throughout the week. Just make sure your content is high quality.

  • Write Your Script

    Decide which team member will present each slide of your presentation and work on a script for each page. 


    It's important to write your script together to ensure one page smoothly leads to the next. 

  • Practice

    Practice speaking your script out loud, both together as a group and individually. 


    The more you practice, the more confident you will be about presenting tomorrow.
